echoSMs anatomical datastore hackathon

Hi all,

Mike Jech and I plan to run a hackathon on the echoSMs anatomical shape datastore (Introduction - echoSMs), online, in mid-January 2026. Our aim is to:

  • test and refine the current draft datastore schema (Schema - echoSMs)
  • test and refine the process of adding datasets into the datastore
  • get overall feedback on the datastore

We want to get early feedback on the anatomical datastore so that we can then have a reasonably complete and workable schema and datastore for an in-person and online training/workshop/hackathon during the April 2026 WGFAST meeting.

We would like participants to bring a dataset of their own to try formatting and loading into the datastore. We’re after diversity in datasets, data structures, and ways of using publicly available scattering model shapes.

If you are interested in participating, please reply to this post or email Mike Jech or Gavin Macaulay and we can then coordinate to choose a date and other arrangements.
